First gather the following ingredients and supplies:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of flour (all purpose)
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
  • 1 apple sliced into very fine pieces
  • 2 large eggs – separate the yolks from the egg whites
  • 1/3 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 and 1/4 cup of milk
  • walnuts for topping
  • syrup for topping

Supplies:

  • cooking spray
  • waffle maker
  • sifter
  • 2 medium bowls
  • 1 small bowl
  • egg beater

Ingredients make 4 to 5 waffles.

After gathering all your ingredients, you will need to combine your dry ingredients of flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a medium sized bowl. Sift these ingredients so that they are well mixed. Set bowl aside.

Carefully separate your egg whites from the egg yolks. Place egg yolks in a medium bowl and egg whites in a small bowl. Beat your egg whites. Place bowls aside.

Next beat your egg yolks. When they are well beaten gradually stir in the milk.

Add the sifted dry ingredients to the egg yolks. The mixture should be moistened and mixed. Take care to not whip or over mix this mixture. Add the vegetable oil. Carefully fold your egg whites. Add the cinnamon and stir the mixture. Gradually add the apples and blend them into the mixture.

Bake in a preheated waffle maker that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Make sure to not forgo this step or clean up will be a more time consuming process. Let each waffle sit for 4 to 5 minutes or until the waffle is golden brown. Top with walnuts and syrup and enjoy!

Curl up with the Sunday paper and coffee or watch your kids wake up to the beckoning of warm apple cinnamon waffles and syrup. You can have a blissfully perfect weekend morning with the help of delectable waffles. If your not a morning person, these waffles can be just as enjoyable to make while enjoying a low key evening listening to your favorite music.
